Website Starting Steps
Beginning a Church’s Web Ministry
- Deciding on a domain name (The stuff between the WWW. and the .com)
- Using web savvy, decide what your domain name needs to be. It should be long enough to describe your organization/institution, but short enough to remember and for easy searching.
- ·
Examples: (Note: these are fictional names of churches and cities)

- ·
- You also must decide on and buy a dot extension (Ex. .org, .com, .net). We recommend buying all three extensions (in most cases) for the reasons listed below.
- ·
- ·
- Go to a registry site and proceed through the process for domain registration. Pick whichever register you wish (and there are many). But go somewhere and get started!
- Establish a relationship to provide web hosting.
